Where are our toys made?
Our wooden toys are passionately designed in Melbourne and brought to life by artisans in a small town in the rural backdrop of South India.
The town is famous for it's traditional craft form of handcrafted lacware toys with a rich history dating back hundreds of years.
All our toys are handmade by artisans. Their traditional skills have been passed down from generation to generation and we work hard to keep these crafts and traditional knowledge alive and kicking.
These designs are handcrafted in small batch volumes and not mass produced or easily replicated in large-scale factories.
Are these toys ethically made?
Our artisans are represented by a partner that is a member of the "World Fair Trade Organisation" ensuring that our toys are made meticulously and safely by expert craftsman whose best interests are well represented and taken care off.
Are these toys designed to be safe?
Our toys are designed in accordance with the relevant local safety standards and our handcrafting partners make these toys in compliance with international toy safety standards such as the EN71 for Europe and ASTM for the USA.
They have extensive knowledge and skill in handcrafting lacware wooden products and have been doing so since 2002.
What are these toys made of?
These wooden wonders are made from Ivory wood (Wrightia tinctoria) that is native to India. The wood from this tree besides being used for ornamental products is also endowed with medical properties.
What is the nature of colours used on our toys?
Our toys use naturaly dried vegetable dyes extracted from sources such as Turmeric & Indigo blended with lac resin extracted from the Ivory wood tree.
This lac upon application is polished smooth using the dried leaves from a screwpine tree, thus lending our toys their signature and spectacular high-gloss finish.
Are these toys sustainable?
We strive to ensure that our toys are eco-friendly and sustainable.
We ensure that there are no harmful chemicals or toxic materials used anywhere in it's conception and as these are made using all-natural timber and dyes, they are absolutely safe for children of any age and ability.
Do these toys come in a box?
Al our toys come packaged in a 100% recyclable material and is made locally in Melbourne.
We at Perspectry are proud to consciously avoid the use of any plastics in any materials and finishes for our toys or their packaging.
How long will my parcel take to arrive?
All our orders are shipped from our workspace in Melbourne and we endeavour to dispatch all our orders within 2 business days.
For orders received on Fridays after 12:00 noon, the 2 day period is counted from the following Monday.
We use Auspost for all our parcels. Once an order has been dispatched, you will receive your Auspost tracking ID to track your wooden wonder.
Transit times vary depending upon your location and range from 4 - 8 days for regular shipping and 2 - 6 days for express shipping.
Where are your Homewares designed?
All our gorgeous Homewares are designed in our studio in Melbourne.
What material are these pots made out of?
All our stoneware is handcrafted using locally-sourced light coloured clay and glazed by our experienced artisans.
